Big Wall Climbing @ Dragon's Horns, Mukut Village,Tioman Island Malaysia

dragon horns,tioman island
Tioman Island is a small island located 32 km off the east coast of Peninsular Malaysia in the state of Pahang, surrounded by numerous coral reefs, making it a popular scuba diving spot in SE Asia. There are also a lot of resorts and chalets around the island. Tioman is less well known for its abundant climbing opportunities. In the south, the island is dominated by the twin towers of The Dragons Horns, possibly the longest rock climbs in South East Asia and only big wall climbing in Peninsular Malaysia

First ascend attempted by Nick Tomlin and Scotty Nelson in late august 2000, 10pitches sports + traditional climbs and 4nights portaledge on the granite wall. In june 2001, the Malaysian climbers with sponsored by Ministry of Youth and Sports makes the ascend again with 5days expedition to the summit. The 400meters vertical face now still remains mystery with no further development or climbing attempts.
